I chose not to install LED light because they appear purple/blue, and people have had problems with them. Protects wire and tells you to not try that wire again.ġ3. If positap wrong wire, remove positap and then wrap small amount of electric tape. Make sure boards go up when door closes and down when open.ġ2. Positap a wire of correct color and then touch wire coming from computer, if deploys, you have the right wire. Know what wire you are looking for, it does no good selecting the right wire for the driver rear door, but then opening the front door. IMPORTANT: PLACE FUSE IN FIRST, IF NO SPARK, KEEP FUSE IN PLACE AND THEN DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT WIRES TO COMPUTER.ġ0. Before using positaps and selecting wires, make sure everything else is done including having the power connected and the amp in place. If you want to see size of wire, you can pull part of weatherstrip up just at where switch is located. The wire colors are correct for the driver and passenger front and rear door courtesy switches. Silicon sealant should be used on floor grommets when passing wire into interior. When putting on black motor housing, don't bother with provided Cinch fasteners, just use small zip ties. Should fall under own weight without motor.Ħ. Snug but don't tighten bolt for motor and linkage assembly until you have tested with board to make sure spacing is correct between board and car when up and no bind is present. Aside from keeping wires away from hot or moving parts.Run wires just inside inner part of thin rubber wheel well and then OVER frame leading to outside of frame where motor and linkage assembly are.ĥ. This is the point of aluminum mounting brackets.Ĥ. KDSS is compatible, but things are tight. Motor assembly goes in the rear door location on both driver and passenger side. Directions are poor, but don't look for videos because they will not follow directions for the model.Ģ. Subtract from that whatever db level less your MV is from reference and add back in a db value that reflects how "hot" you run your bass.Installed AMP research power steps and it was a bit of a struggle, but learned some things in the process. It's is usually pretty easy to either know or make a good guess as to how most sub models can perform based on cabinet and driver size as well as rated amp power.įull reference in the bass range is 115db + an additive factor for redirected bass from other channels, so say 120db for simplicity. Then choose based on what you know the sub can do. You can then take close mic and MLP measurements of your current subs to see what you're getting for room gain or losing due to room modes or just distance. If you want to eliminate the "what ifs" take some time to figure out your required output levels at your seat throughout your target frequency range. While it's possible to overbuy, dialing back is almost always preferable to cranking up, as this is more conducive to better sound quality and unit lifespan. Room size is half of the equation, personal preference is the other. I suspect the entry level model would be “fine” but I’ll always be wondering what the mid range model would be capable of… What is the school of thought here? Buy bigger than the room needs and dial back or buy the smaller model and turn them up? My question is am I better off buying the mid range model or the entry level model for my tiny room? My concern is I’ll have to dial back the mid range model so much that it will somehow ”lessen its effectiveness”…At least with the entry level model I should beable to set the gains levels to perhaps 1/2 way on the dial… No need to go into details of brand and model etc but suffice it to say I’m looking at 2 different models, same brand…The entry level model has a 400w amp and a 12” driver…The mid range model has a 12” driver and an 800w amp…Both dig good and deep… I really don’t need new subs but wanted to try a ported design… My room is only 12x17 and I currently run dual Monitor Audio Gold GX 15’s…They are sealed and provide plenty of LFE (down to 18hz) for my tiny room… Hi folks, I’m curious what the school of thought is when it comes to subwoofer sizing in regards to room size…
